Washington DC March 5, 2008
The Washington, DC event was hosted by Elizabeth and Paul Foley '00 at the law office of WilmerHale. It was an enjoyable evening with alumni and friends and a discussion on teaching in the Core Program in Liberal Arts by Dr. Patricia Koplas, Professor of Biology.

Richmond, VA March 4, 2008
The Richmond chapter event hosted by Tom and Mary McMillan Horton '69 and Tom and Anne Carmichael Jefferson '60 was a wonderful evening. Dr. Reed Perkins, Professor of Biology and 2007 North Caorlina Professor of the Year spoke on "Micronesia: Islands in a Changing Sea."

The New York chapter event at the home of Ravenel and Beth Curry’s '63 was a great success. Over eighty New York city area alumni, friends and the annual Queens alumni theatre travel group led by Professor Emeritus, Dr. Charles Hadley gathered for a festive event. President Dr. Pamela Davies delivered a campus update.

Raleigh, NC November 13, 2007 Over 25 Queens alumni and friends gathered for a Raleigh Chapter Event at the home of Carl and Peggy Thomas Hibbert '69. Attendees enjoyed a wine and cheese reception followed by an entertaining talk entitled, "Recipe for Disaster: Hollywood and Science" by special faculty guest, Dr. Greg Pillar, Professor of Environment Science

Greenville, SC November 1, 2007 Greenville area alumni and friends enjoyed a luncheon held at the Poinsett Club. News about developments on campus was shared, and Dr. Goode, McMahon Professor of English and North Carolina Professor of the Year gave an entertaining talk entitled, “War of the Words.”

Atlanta, GA November 1, 2007 Over 25 Queens alumni and friends gathered for an Atlanta Chapter Event at the home of Penny Pennington O’Callaghan ’78. Attendees heard the latest news from campus, and Dr. Dr. Goode, McMahon Professor of English and North Carolina Professor of the Year, gave an entertaining talk entitled, “War of the Words.”

Winston-Salem, NC October 23, 2007 Alumni and friends met at the home of Robert and Laura Grant Dillard ’77 for the Winston-Salem Chapter Event. Dr. Patricia Koplas, professor of Biology discussed teaching in the Core Program, which educates students for noble lives, productive careers and responsible citizenship.
