The mission of the Queens University of Charlotte class agent program is to promote lasting relationships between the class agent, their classmates, and their alma mater, by encouraging alumni participation and support for the financial stability of the University.
What are the responsibilities of a class agent?
- To make a gift to The Queens Fund
Gifts, regardless of their size, are incredibly important to the success of the University. The Office of Annual Giving asks that you please make your Queens Fund gift as your first task as a class agent.
- To encourage classmates to make their gift to The Queens Fund
After you have made your gift to The Queens Fund you are ready to ask your classmates to make theirs. Encourage them to give, as you have done, regardless of the size of their gift, everything helps!
- To assist in the organization of your class Phonathon
For the school year 2005-2006 we will have one spring Phonathon for reunion classes. The class agents for these classes will be responsible for recruiting classmates to help them make the calls. The Office of Annual Giving will supply all the resources needed, e.g. telephones and scripts. See appendixes 3a and 3b for frequently asked questions and calling tips
- To write and/or sign solicitation letter
The Office of Annual Giving has provided a sample class letter, see appendix 1, which can be adapted or used as is. Class agents are also welcome to write their own letter with the approval of the Office of Annual Giving. Signatures can be scanned and dropped into the mail merged letters if preferred. The Office of Annual Giving will provide mailing labels and postage for the class gift letter.
- To write thank you notes as appropriate
While the Office of Annual Giving acknowledges all gifts to Queens, you may want to hand write thank you notes to your classmates as well. Supplies can be provided by the Office of Annual Giving. See appendix 2 for an sample note.
- To work as a liaison between classmates and the Office of Annual Giving
As a class agent, you will have direct contact with your classmates; as they raise concerns, make suggestions or express interest in being involved it is your job to communicate their needs to the Office of Annual Giving.
- To encourage alumni participation in programs
We want all of our alumni to participate! Please, as a class agent, attend all university events that you can and encourage your classmates to join you.
The mission of the Queens University of Charlotte class reporter program is to promote lasting relationships between the class reporter, their classmates, and their alma mater, by encouraging alumni to stay in touch with Queens and participate in alumni programming and events.
In their reunion year, class agents will be responsible for working with the reunion committee to promote reunion attendance and participation in the reunion class gift.
