CHARLOTTE, N.C. (October 10, 2007) — Queens University of Charlotte today announced that it has promoted Cherie Swarthout to assistant athletic director for external operations. Filling the vacancy left by Swarthout is Sarah Hauck, who was named the Royals’ new sports information director and event manager.
“I am excited to join the Queens community,” said Hauck. “With all of the positive changes that are taking place within athletics right now, I am excited to do my part to help Queens reach the next level.”
Hauck, a native of West Chester, Pa., previously worked in the sports information office at Marshall University, located in Huntington, W. Va., as a graduate assistant during the 2005 and 2006 athletic seasons. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in athletic administration from Marshall University.
The Office of Sports Information at Queens serves a broad range of functions including game management, NCAA/Conference Carolinas reporting and athletics web management, marketing, sponsorships and publications, spurring the office to add additional staff and expand Swarthout’s responsibilities, naming her assistant athletic director for external operations.
