The North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program
Queens University of Charlotte is proud to be one of the newest universities in the state to participate in the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program. We are one of five private campuses and the only coed, private university located in a major metropolitan area. In fact, our location is one of the greatest aspects of our Teaching Fellows program. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg school system is the largest in the Carolinas, and provides our diverse student body many opportunities to enhance their preparation for a career in education.
• Summer Orientation for Teaching Fellows • Approximately 25 Teaching Fellows in each cohort • Guaranteed housing for four years • Teaching Fellows Honors Section of Core, the general education program • Field experiences focused on classroom leadership and diversity • Bi-weekly seminars • Specific Teaching Fellows curriculum over four years • Collaboration with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System--Mentor Program • Educational field trips • Academic advising through the Education Division • Summer abroad in Australia-educational leadership program
Teacher Licensure is offered in Elementary (K-6) and Secondary Education (9-12).
