WHAT: “Gone With the Wind” aficionados take heed. The Friends of the Library at Queens, in conjunction with Park Road Books, is bringing Author Donald McCaig to the University’s campus for a special engagement to discuss his latest novel, “Rhett Butler’s People,” the long-awaited novel that parallels the epic masterpiece, “Gone With the Wind.” Mr. McCaig will be available to sign copies of his book and books which will be on sale at the event.
Twelve years in the making, “Rhett Butler’s People” focuses on the life and times of the dashing Rhett Butler. The reader meets the people who shaped Rhett’s life including his unyielding father, steadfast sister, best friend, past love and, of course, the indelible Katie Scarlett O’Hara.
Donald McCaig is the award-winning author of “Jacob’s Ladder.” A native of Montana, he is a regular commentator on National Public Radio's ”All Things Considered.” He also contributes articles to Harper's, GQ, Sports Illustrated and The New York Times Magazine and his reviews and op-ed pieces appear in The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times and New York Newsday.
