WHO: American Chamber Players
WHEN: Saturday, October 24, 8 p.m.
WHAT: The Friends of Music at Queens welcome the American Chamber Players to open the 26th season of chamber music at Queens. Formed in 1985 by Miles Hoffman from a core group of artists of The Library of Congress Summer Chamber Festival, this six-member ensemble performs repertoire ranging from familiar masterpieces to neglected gems to newly commissioned American works.
Program: Bloch's Concertino for flute, viola, and piano Schubert's Auf dem Strom for soprano, viola and piano Madeleine Dring's Trio for flute, violin and piano Beethoven's Variations on "La ci darem la mano" Rachmaninoff's Two Songs for soprano and piano Mozart's Trio in E-flat Majory (Kegelstatt Trio)
WHERE: Dana Auditorium, E. H. Little Fine Arts Center

This season, the Friends of Music at Queens introduce Pre-Concert Dinners with Lecture prior to each performance. Catherine and Wilton Connor will host the dinner on October 24th, and they invite you to purchase a dinner and concert ticket to join them. Dinner will be served in Claudia Belk Dining Room in the Trexler Students Center on campus at 6:30pm. The cost of dinner is $30. Dr. Paul Nitsch, FOM Artistic Director will be the guest lecturer.
Future Pre-Concert Dinner Lecturers include: James Meena, Opera Carolina (Nov. 14), Jonathan Martin, Charlotte Symphony Orchestra (Jan. 16), and Ben Roe, WDAV (Mar. 20)
