The Dickson Microcomputer Lab located is in the basement of the Walker Science Building, adjacent to the Department of Information Technology Services. This lab has 20 IBM-compatible Pentium IV level personal computers with color monitors. Each PC has network access to the Internet and access to student e-mail accounts via the campus Webmail system. Software available in the center includes the Windows operating systems and related application software including Microsoft Office Professional.
The lab also includes a scanner and a network laser printer. The lab is used to support academic courses and serves as a resource for faculty and students. The lab is staffed during primary usage times each day and is open on request 24 hours per day when classes are in session.
The DeWitt PC Teaching Lab is used exclusively for classroom teaching and is equipped with 20 Pentium III PCs with color monitors and a network laser printer. Each PC is equipped to run the Windows operating system and has Microsoft's Office Pro suite of application software available.
The Science Computing Lab and Chemistry Computing Lab are located in the Walker Science Building. This Science lab is used by science and mathematics classes and is equipped with Pentium III systems networked to run science and math application and modeling software. The Chemistry lab has one Pentium III PC used for chemical modeling.
The Writing Center is located in the McEwen Building. This lab has three Pentium PCs equipped with word processing software and printers and is used to enhance student writing skills. The Psychology Lab is located in the McEwen building. This lab has a combination of Apple Macintosh and IBM compatible PCs, including three Pentium III PCs with SPSS statistical analysis software.
The Curriculum Resource Center and Media Center are located in Everett Library. Everett Library contains nine Pentium IV and two Pentium III level public access stations available for student use. The library is wired so that students may connect their lap tops for Internet access.
There are computer workstations with printers in each residence hall. South, Belk and Hayes residence rooms are wired for Internet access through the campus network. Request for paper supplies or ink/toner cartridges should be referred to your Residence/Area Coordinator. All other repair and maintenance requests should be reported to the Department of Information Technology Services at 704 337-2323.
