Prague:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a nice website with a home page that covers a range of topics for the entire country and a link to the excellent Prague page with info on the city's history, places to visit and more. You can also listen to Czech composers and view examples of the amazing variety of architecture found throughout the city. Don't miss the excelent Prague City Hall site which has something for everyone--of special interest to the Central & Alpine Study Tour group will be the virtual tours of many of the city's sights (under the "Tourism" tab) . The My Czech Republic site for Prague has good articles on the local cuisine, places to see, transportation and even a photo album for the city. Along the same lines, you can check the Prague Information Service site. For the most up-to-date articles on virtually any topic, take a look at the Prague Daily Monitor's online service.

| For a nice introduction to the city, read the article on Budapest on the Budapest Tourism Office's website. It also has good info on the city's culture, sights and spas. The Budapest Tourist Guide has "tips from locals" on sightseeing, Hungarian cuisine and wines, concerts and more. For a more personal discussion of Budapest, check RealTravel.com 's site--blogs, restaurants, money and more.
Vienna:
The About Austria page of the Austria.info site has information pertaining to the country in general--of particular interest are the pages for Austrian history, famous Austrian citizens from Mozart to Freud. The official website of the Vienna Tourism organization has a great list of current articles about what is going on in the city as well as pages on sightseeing, events and more. The AboutVienna.org website has a city guide with information on the usual topics plus pages on museums, artists, and etiquette. You might want to find out more about the Kunsthistorisches Museum at their website, the Freud Museum or the zany Hundertwasser House.
Salzburg:
As noted above, the About Austria page of the Austria.info site has information on the country. In addition to information on sightseeing and the usual topics, you can discover information on Mozart, the Sound of Music and upcoming events on the salzburg.info website. An interesting slate of articles--including "10 things NOT to do in Salzburg"--can be found on the Visit Salzburg site.

The Munich Tourism Information website has tons of links to let you explore the city--you can get to the internet sites for the city's museums and the Residenz. The Germany Tourism site has information on Munich (destinations, museums, etc) and allows you to explore the country in general. |
