Be at the Lufthansa check-in at the Charlotte Airport no later than 2:50! [Allow plenty of time for security.] Depart Charlotte 5:15 pm, LH #429, for Munich.

Tue, May 9  

Arrive Munich 8:00 am; depart Munich 8:55 am, LH # 3390, arriving Athens 12:20 pm.  [Get Euros at airport]  Depart Athens 3:00 pm, Olympic # 510 for Heraklion [Iraklion], arriving 3:50 pm.  Transfer to hotel via coach (Lyknos Tourism).  Brief orientation and dinner with group at the hotel.  

Wed, May 10 

Heraklion [Iraklion]: 8:30 am, leave hotel for visit to the Archeological Museum. Afternoon: visit the Palace of Knossos.

Thu, May 11 

Heraklion: 8:30 am, leave hotel for day trip to Palace of Phaistos, Matala, & Gortyn.

Fri, May 12 

Heraklion: 8:45 am, leave hotel for Historical Museum of Crete and Venetian Fortress (Koules).  Afternoon: EXPLORE HERAKLION – ALTERNATIVE ACTIVITIES: Battle of Crete Museum, Leoforos Kalokerinou, wandering Heraklion, & outside the city, the Arhanes vineyards, etc.

Sat, May 13 

Heraklion: 7:45 am, leave hotel with luggage for the Flying Cat, departing 9:45 am for Santorini, arriving 11:40 am.  After hotel check-in, Santorini walkabout.

Sun, May 14 

Santorini: 8:00 am, leave hotel for Ancient Thira and museums.

Mon, May 15 

Santorini: 8:50 am, leave hotel for boat trip to the volcanic island, the caldera, etc. Afternoon:  Explore Santorini.  [Get food and drink for boat trip to the Mainland.]

Tue, May 16 

Santorini: EARLY RISING!  5:45 am, leave hotel with luggage for coach transfer to the Blue Star Naxos ferry, leaving at 7:00 am to Piraeus, arriving 3:00 pm;
Transfer by coach (Panos Travel) to Nafplion and hotel.

Wed, May 17 

Nafplion: 8:30 am, leave hotel for visit to Mycenae.  Afternoon: Nafplion Museum.

Thu, May 18 

Nafplion: 8:00 am, leave hotel for visit to the Theatre of Epidarus.  Afternoon: the Venetian Fortress.

Fri, May 19 

Nafplion: 7:30 am, leave hotel with luggage for coach trip to Delphi via Corinth & the Gulf of Corinth.  Afternoon: after hotel check-in, Delphi walkabout and orientation.

Sat, May 20 

Delphi: 8:45 am, leave hotel for Hosios Lukas Monastery.   Afternoon: 1:45 pm, leave for visit to the Sanctuary of Delphi, the Temple of Apollo, the Theatre of Dionysus, the Stadium, and the Tholos of Athena.   
 
Sun, May 21 

Delphi: 8:30 am, leave hotel for visit to Delphi Museum.  Afternoon:  Depart with luggage for coach trip to Karpenissi.  After hotel check-in, Karpenissi walkabout and orientation.

Mon, May 22 

Karpenissi: 7:00 am, leave hotel for day-trip to Kalambaka and Metéora area monasteries.

Tue, May 23 

Karpenissi: 8:45 am, leave hotel for coach tour of local area.  Evening activity: TBA by faculty leaders.

Wed, May 24

Karpenissi:  8:30 am, leave hotel with luggage for coach trip to Athens.  After hotel check-in, walkabout and orientation, visit the Agora, the Stoa of Zeus and Temple of Hephestus. 

Thu, May 25 

Athens: 8:00 am, leave hotel to visit the Theatre of Dionysus, the Acropolis, Parthenon, and the Acropolis Museum. 

Fri, May 26 

Athens: 8:45 am, leave hotel for visit to the National Archeological Museum.  Afternoon: free.
