Tentative Activities Calendar
[The events, dates, & times in this activities calendar are subject to alteration in case of unforeseen conditions such as museum closings, inclement weather, or changes in the travel schedule.]

Day 1   Be at the Lufthansa check-in at the Charlotte Airport no later than 2:45! [Allow plenty of time for security.] Depart Charlotte 5:15 pm, LH #429, for Munich.

Day 2   Arrive Munich 8:00 am; depart Munich 9:20 am, LH # 3374, arriving Athens 12:50 pm.  [Get Euros at airport]  Depart Athens 3:25 pm, OA # 510 for Heraklion [Iraklion], arriving 4:15 pm.  Transfer to hotel via coach (Lyknos Tourism).  Brief walkabout and orientation.  

Day 3   Heraklion [Iraklion]: 8:30 am, leave hotel for visit to the Palace of Knossos. Afternoon: visit the Historical Museum of Crete.  [Effie will be your guide.]  Dinner with group at the hotel.

Day 4   Heraklion: 8:30 am, leave hotel for day trip to Palace of Phaistos, Matala, & Gortyn.  [Effie will be your guide.] 

Day 5   Heraklion: 8:45 am, leave hotel for and Venetian Fortress (Koules).  Afternoon: EXPLORE HERAKLION – ALTERNATIVE ACTIVITIES: Battle of Crete Museum, Leoforos Kalokerinou, wandering Heraklion, & outside the city, the Arhanes vineyards, etc.

Day 6   Heraklion: 7:45 am, leave hotel with luggage for the Flying Cat, departing 9:45 am for Santorini, arriving 11:30 am.  After hotel check-in, Santorini walkabout.

Day 7   Santorini: 8:00 am, leave hotel for Ancient Thira and museums.

Day 8   Santorini: 8:50 am, leave hotel for boat trip to the volcanic island, the caldera, etc. Afternoon:  Explore Santorini. 

Day 9   Santorini: 9:45 am, leave hotel with luggage for transfer to the airport for Aegean Airlines #355, leaving at 12:35 pm to Piraeus, arriving 1:20 pm; Transfer by coach (Panos Travel) to Nafplion and hotel.

Day 10   Nafplion: 8:30 am, leave hotel for visit to Mycenae and Tiryns.  Afternoon: Explore Nafplion.

Day 11   Nafplion: 8:00 am, leave hotel for visit to the Theatre of Epidarus.  Afternoon: the Venetian Fortress.

Day 12   Nafplion: 9:00 am, leave hotel for Napflion Museum.  Afternoon: Explore Nafplion.

Day 13   Nafplion: 8:30 am, leave hotel with luggage for coach trip to Corinth & the Gulf of Corinth, continuing on to Delphi.  Afternoon: after hotel check-in, Delphi walkabout and orientation. 
 
 Day 14   Delphi: 8:45 am, leave hotel for Delphi Museum.   Afternoon: visit to the Sanctuary of Delphi, the Temple of Apollo, the Theatre of Dionysus, the Stadium, and the Tholos of Athena.  [Penny will be your guide.] 

Day 15   Delphi: 8:30 am, leave hotel with luggage for coach trip to Hosios Lukas Monastery, continuing on to Athens.  After hotel check-in, Athens walkabout and orientation, Agora.

Day 16   Athens: 8:30 am, leave hotel to visit the Theatre of Dionysus, the Acropolis, Parthenon, and the Acropolis Museum.  [Nick will be your guide.] 

Day 17   Athens: 8:45 am, leave hotel for visit to the National Archeological Museum.  Afternoon: Explore Athens.  

Day 18   Athens: 4:00 AM SHARP! Leave hotel with luggage for coach transfer (Panos Travel) to Athens airport. Depart Athens 6:50 am, LH #3375, for Munich, arriving 8:20 am.  Depart Munich 11:30 am, LH #428, for Charlotte, arriving 3:15 pm.
