Tentative Activities Calendar

Day 1:
Arrive Madrid 9:00 am.  After hotel check-in, brief walkabout and orientation.
Afternoon:  visit to the Palacio Real.
 
Day 2:
Madrid: 8:30 am, leave hotel for Prado Museum.  Late afternoon:  Centro de Arte Sofia Reina (Picasso’s Guernica).

Day 3:
8:45 am, leave hotel for day trip to El Escorial and the Valley of the Fallen with Pullman Tour.  Late afternoon: Goya exhibit at the Prado.

Day 4:
8:30 am, leave hotel for day trip to Toledo.

Day 5:
Madrid: 9:00 am, leave hotel for train station to take the AVE to Seville, departing.  After hotel check-in, Seville walkabout and orientation.  Afternoon: Barrio Santa Cruz and Cathedral

Day 6:
Seville: 8:45 am, leave hotel for visit to Alcazar.  Afternoon:  Plaza de España and Basilica of the Macarena.

Day 7:
Seville: 8:00 am, leave hotel for day trip to Cordoba (Mesquita, Medina al-Zahra).

Day 8: 
Seville: 8:45 am, leave hotel for Plaza de Toros and Flamenco Museum.  Evening: Flamenco performance.

Day 9:
Seville: 8:30 am, leave hotel for coach transfer to Granada.  After hotel check-in, walkabout and orientation. 

Day 10:
Granada: 8:00 am, leave hotel for visit to Cathedral and Royal Chapel.

Day 11: 
Granada: 9:00 am, leave hotel for visit to Albayzin area.  Afternoon: visit to the Alhambra.

Day 12:
Granada: 8:30 am, leave hotel with luggage for coach trip to Valencia.  After hotel check-in, Valencia walkabout and orientation.  
 
Day 13:
Valencia: 8:45 am, leave hotel for the City of Science and Art. 

Day 14:
Valencia: 8:30 am, leave hotel for tour of Old Quarter, markets, etc.  Afternoon: Sagunto.

Day 15:
Valencia: 8:30 am, leave hotel with luggage for coach trip to Barcelona.  After hotel check-in, Barcelona walkabout and orientation: Las Ramblas, La Boquería (huge food market), Columbus Monument, etc.

Day 16:
Barcelona: 8:45 am, leave hotel for visit to Barrio Gótico, Cathedral, Picasso Museum.  Afternoon: EXPLORE BARCELONA: Barceloneta, Maritime Museum, City History Museum, Montjuic, Catalan Concert Hall, Catalan Art Museum, Fundación Tapiès and, of course, tapas

Day 17:
Barcelona: 8:30 am, leave hotel for Isla de la Discordia, Casa Mila, La Sagrada Familia, Parque Guell.

Day 18:
Barcelona: 9:00 leave hotel for Catalan Concert Hall.  Afternoon: EXPLORE BARCELONA—see activities listed above.

Day 19:
Barcelona: Early Rising!  6:30 AM! Leave hotel with luggage for transfer on Aerobus to Barcelona airport for return to Charlotte, arriving 9:42 pm.
