The four students selected for this unique four-week program at The Robert Schuman University in Strasbourg, France, will have two special courses: European Integration and Business In Europe (for 6 hours of credit, 3 hours each). The program will include visits to companies in the Alsace Region, to institutions and/or organizations associated with the European Union, and to financial institutions in Frankfurt, Germany. There will also be a walking tour of old Strasbourg, a boat tour around the city's canals, a visit to majestic Strasbourg Cathedral and to other notable sites, instruction in conversational French, and special welcoming and farewell dinners.
Students are drawn to this program from more than twenty American universities that, like Queens, are associated with The Robert Schuman University.
- The program is open to students in all majors. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.000.
- There is no supplement charged for this program.
- The JBIP covers roundtrip air and ground transportation between Charlotte and Strasbourg, tuition and accommodations for the four weeks.
- Lunches are sometimes provided by the host companies and organizations.
- Participants are expected to cover most of their meals and incidental expenses.
Important note: All applicants for the Strasbourg program must secure from the John Belk International Program Office a supplemental application which must be filled out and returned to the Belk Office to complete the application process. In filling out the regular Belk Program application form, interested students should indicate the Strasbourg program as their first choice, but should also select one of the other Belk programs as a second choice.
