Here we are in the beautiful, vibrant city of Sydney, Australia! It's quite a change from the Outback! Today, we took the train to catch the ferry for a scenic ride in the harbor, and then we had a nice lunch "on the Rocks," or rather, in the historic district near the harbor, where the first settlement was established in 1788 when the First Fleet from England landed in this most challenging country.
Then we were treated to a tour of the famous and instantly recognizable opera house, where many of our group were able to buy tickets to productions in one of the several theaters there. Some students are on their way now for a play tonight, and the faculty and a few students plan a trip to the symphony on Friday before our departure for the States on Saturday.
There is so much to do in Sydney that we wonder if we'll get it all done! We have trips to the zoo, the climbing of the Harbor Bridge, and other optional excursions in the offing, and we remain energetic and enthusiastic.
For now, g'day, and no worries, from the JBIP group Down Under!
