Have you ever dreamed of going to far-off places? Of working and studying abroad? Then come to Queens and we will take you there - as part of our academic program.
Almost 90% of our CAS students take advantage of this incredible offer to travel and study abroad at the end of their junior year. The national average? About 9%. Quite a difference.
At Queens, we believe that a college education is incomplete without a global perspective, something best gained by direct experience. Our study tours and other programs are meaningful encounters with other cultures, not just tourist activity.
In order to participate in the study tours, you must pass a semester-long preparatory course combining history, geography, politics and culture in order to go. Then you're off on the trip of a lifetime. Wherever possible, you have home stays, and meet with local students and families for discussions and social gatherings. Plus, you earn academic credit for both the preparatory course and the study tour.
We go to some of the usual places, and why not? But we also go to some out-of-the-way spots as well. Our latest destinations: Tibet, Australia, and Yap. Where? Yap, an island state which is part of Micronesia in the far Pacific, near Guam and the Philippine Islands. What in the world will you do on Yap? Environmental Studies... and scuba diving. Enjoy learning about and experiencing Australia, with its koalas, rain forests, red deserts, Aboriginal culture, and the amazing Great Barrier Reef.
Our students explore the world not only to discover the world, but to discover themselves... And ultimately to become more responsible citizens in our increasingly global world. Why don't you join us?
