The McColl School MBA European Study Tour group left for Frankfurt, Germany on June 9th. The group will be traveling to Frankfurt, Strasbourg and Basel on their study tour. Dr. David Rudd and Assistant Dean, Marcia Stefan are leading the trip.
All thirty-four intrepid McColl MBAs, spouses, friends, and significant others are have made it to Frankfurt! So far the toughest part of the trip has been getting out of Charlotte (due to weather).
We've explored Frankfurt's city center, churches, beer halls, and the Main River front. Tomorrow we hit the DeutscheBundesbank and the Franfurt Stock Exchange. We've had some turbulent weather (changes frequently) here in Germany, but we are coping.
— Chief Herder, David Rudd
Today we visited the Deutsche Bundesbank and heard from Dr. Heike Winter about the European Central Bank System and the new role of the Bundesbank. Also visited the money museum where Executive MBA participant Joan Jeffries shined as the master of our "Managing the Economy" game.
Visited the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, although it was a slow day due to President Reagan's funeral.
We enjoyed an wonderful evening together in a great restaurant near the banks of the Main. Tomorrow we will be on our way Heidelberg and Strasbourg!
P.S. Nervous a bit as bus driver was using GPS mapping on his cell phone to guide us back to the Hotel... the wonders of technology!
— Dr. David Rudd
