Wednesday, January 30: Networking Seminar and Reception for Students, Alumni, and Employers
Located in Burwell Parlor at 5:30 Seminar and 6:00 Reception to follow
· Learn the art of networking while actually doing it. Sample hors d’oeuvres while mingling with alumni and area professionals. At this reception, students will have the opportunity to discuss internship and full time job opportunities with employers and should treat this as a business event. Professional attire is expected. Please come to learn, impress and take another step towards an internship or a job beyond graduation.
Wednesday, February 20: Resume Critiques – Special Location! (no RSVP needed)
Located in Trexler Student Center from 10am-2pm
· Bring a copy of your resume and a member of the career center staff will critique it for you – no appointment necessary! Use this time to prepare your resume for the career fair.
Thursday, February 21: Prepare for the Fair
Located at the Blair House in the Residential Quad at 5:00pm – 6:00pm
· Do you know what to say, what to do, and what to expect when you attend a career fair? This is an opportunity to practice your 60 second pitch, learn how to prepare for the Expo in its new location and get your career fair questions answered. Students should bring a copy of their resume to print on resume paper.
Thursday, February 28: Career Expo 2008
Located at the Charlotte Convention Center, 9:00am – 1:00pm
· This is the one Queens University of Charlotte sponsored job fair of the year so don’t miss it! We will have more than 100 employers recruiting for both internships and professional full time opportunities. All students are welcome to attend but must come dressed professionally (suits are best). Buses will depart Queens starting at 8:30am and run on the half hour. Breakfast and lunch are provided for participants.
April 1: Using Your Words Wisely
Located in Sykes Auditorium, 5:00pm – 6:00pm
· Are you a student interested in fields such journalism, PR, advertising or marketing? Professionals will come together to discuss how they turned their communication skills into a career.
