Also the full texts of the works of more than two dozen poets from Rupert Brooke to William Butler Yeats. Searchable, and indexes include chronologic, author, title, and first line.
Lyrical Legacy: 400 Years of American Song and Poetry
"Lyrical Legacy helps teachers explore eighteen American songs and poems from the digital collections of the Library of Congress. Each song and poem is represented by an original primary source document, along with historical background information and, in many cases, sound recordings and alternate versions." Songs are listed by time period (early America through 1968), and include titles such as "Yankee Doodle" and "You're a Grand Old Flag." From the Library of Congress.

The Poetry Archive
This British site offers audio files of "English-language poets reading their own work. Some are historic recordings, some have been made specially for the Archive." Browse by poet or name of poem. Includes videos of interviews with selected poets, lesson plans, access to the "Children's Poetry Archive," and links to poetry sites for students and to other material.
Poetry Daily
A new poem is posted daily. "Poems are chosen from the work of a wide variety of poets published in the English language. The daily poem is selected for its topical or seasonal interest, as well as for its literary quality." Past poems are archived for a year and arranged by author, title, or date used. News contains links to recent articles, reviews, and interviews of poets.
The Poetry & Literature Center of the Library of Congress
Offers information on poetry awards and events at the Library of Congress, "cybercasts" of readings by the present poet laureate and previous ones, and a description of the library's Archive of Recorded Poetry & Literature. Also serves as the official site for the poet laureate of the United States, with a history of that position since 1937.
Poetry Society of America (PSA)
This organization for poets and readers is known for its annual awards, which include the Frost Medal and the Shelley Memorial Award. The site includes lists of Frost and Shelley award winners back to 1930, and poems by current award winners. Features information about and selected poems from the organization's Poetry in Motion project, "which places poems in buses and subways," and information about the Favorite Poem Project. Poets.org: Love Poems
"A very small sample of both new and classic love poems" from poets such as William Shakespeare, W.B. Yeats, and Robert Penn Warren.
