Bridge for Beginners - Cancelled Bridge is one of the most popular card games in the world. In this hands-on class, the emphasis will be on helping you discover the joys of playing bridge. Join one or both exciting social ballroom style dancing classes for great fun and exercise. Choose either Ballroom for smooth, elegant dances (Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango) or Latin for the lively Latin Rhythm Dances (Salsa, Meringue, Samba, Cha Cha and Rhumba). Swing is included in both classes. Shag Dancing
Discover how easy it is to shag dance, the Carolinas popular dance that is done to "Beach Music" in most public dances and nightclubs in the two states. This class presents the basic steps of Shag dancing, the various turns, patterns, mirror steps and the proper way to start the Shag. There are two sessions: the earlier time is for beginner classes; the later time is for intermediate classes. Instructors: Barry Whisnant and Virginia Pharrhave been teaching Shag dancing in the Charlotte area for almost 20 years. Italian for Travelers II This course is for students who have already taken "Italian for Travelers I". During these six additional classes,students will have the chance to practice more speaking and reinforce their knowledge of Italian with some grammar structures. Cultural topics will be provided. Low Maintenance Landscape Design for the Homeowner FULL
Needing a new look for your home this spring? This class provides the basics of landscape design, plant selection and maintenance. Thirty minutes of individual consultation is included. Students need to bring to class: photos of views of house (front, sides and back), views from windows and their county physical survey (a tax document usually attached to deed). Tennis
Whether you are a beginner, someone who wants to brush up on their game or learn new skills, there is a tennis class that will meet your needs. In Beginner Tennis, you will learn basic stroke techniques: forehand, backhand, volley, and serve. In Intermediate Tennis, you will learn patterns of play: singles and doubles, serves and return of serves.
Instructor: Charles Gordon is USPTR certified and has been teaching tennis for 20 years. He has also served as head tennis coach of the Queen’s men’s tennis team for 19 years.
