Queens’ Hilary Armel helps lead Royals team
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (September 13, 2006) — The Queens University of Charlotte women's golf team competed in the Anderson College Invitational at Brookstone Meadows Golf Course in Anderson, S.C. Opening their fall season, the Royals competed against 10 teams from North Carolina and South Carolina including Carolina Virginia Athletic Conference (CVAC) opponents Anderson University, Limestone College and Mount Olive College. This was the Royals’ first tournament action for the 2006-07 season.
Competing for the Royals were Hilary Armel, Emily Edens, Martha Autrey, Katherine Keeton and Taryn Wolford. Armel led the Royals with a sixth place finish (tied) in the tournament.
"I was pleased with our first outing of the season," said Laura Covington, head coach of the Royals. "We played well and we will continue to build on this effort.
The Royals return to action on October 8-10, 2006 at River Hills in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
