The MSN program is designed to develop graduates who have the knowledge and skills necessary to:
• Utilize research and promote evidence-based practice.
• Analyze and influence health policy.
• Address ethical issues that arise in health care.
• Implement an advanced specialized role in nursing management, nursing leadership, or nursing education.
• Apply nursing and related theories in the selected area of specialized nursing practice.
• Incorporate multicultural dimensions in the area of specialized nursing practice.
• Impact individuals, community, and society for the betterment of health.
Admissions Information
MSN applicants must:
- Hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
- Submit the graduate application, including the non-refundable $40 application fee (effective January 19, 2009). An application can be downloaded here (in pdf). To receive an application in the mail, contact the Presbyterian School of Nursing Office of Admissions at PSONAdmissions@queens.edu.
- Submit official transcripts of all post-secondary academic course work. It is the applicant’s responsibility to have all transcripts sent directly from each institution attended.
- Have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.000 on a 4.000 grade scale and/or acceptable GRE scores
- Provide two letters of reference
- Provide a resume including goals and objectives
- Provide evidence of an unrestricted license to practice nursing
