Admissions Deadlines
It is recommended that RN to BSN applicants submit all application materials no later than two weeks prior to the anticipated term of entry.
Admissions Information
Admission to the RN to BSN program is a two-step process. The first step is admission to the University through the Hayworth College program. The second step is application to the RN-to-BSN program. Graduates of the ASN program at Queens need only apply to the Presbyterian School of Nursing. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at psonadmissions@queens.edu.
Admissions Requirements
- Acceptance to Queens University of Charlotte
- Completed School of Nursing undergraduate application form.
- Non-Queens ASN Graduates: Complete the application for the RN to BSN option. This will serve as your application to Queens as well. Acceptance to Queens does not ensure acceptance to the RN-to-BSN program. A $40 application fee is required with the application. A $30 fee will be charged for returned checks.
- Queens ASN Graduates: Complete the shorter application for the RN to BSN option. An application to Hayworth College is not required.
- Must meet specific prerequisite requirements (Anatomy & Physiology I with Lab, Anatomy and Physiology II with Lab, Microbiology with Lab, Introductory Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Nutrition, Statistics, Introductory Sociology or Introductory Anthropology).
- Must have earned a C- or higher in each course prerequisite. Students may have up to 4 credit hours of prerequisite work remaining to complete during the first semester in the program. Students must complete the prerequisite form indicating the status of the prerequisite courses and submit it with the application.
- One official transcript from all colleges or universities attended, regardless of whether or not a degree was conferred
- Evidence of a current unrestricted license to practice as an RN
Transfer Credit
When a student enters Queens with prior academic credits from a regionally accredited institution the Registrar evaluates those credits for transfer and determines whether or not any transferred courses are equivalent to any courses at Queens. Equivalent courses will meet prerequisite or degree requirements.
Residency Requirement
Normally a student earning their first baccalaureate degree must complete at least 45 credit hours for the degree at Queens. However, the residency is reduced to 36 hours for students in the RN-to-BSN program.
