Queens Finishes 7th In Salisbury

 

Eddy, Noble Lead Royals

 

SALISBURY, N.C. (September 17, 2003) Queens University of Charlotte’s women’s golf team placed seventh out of eleven teams at the Patsy Rendelman Invitational hosted by Catawba College. The Royals shot 354 the first round and 342 the second for a total of 696 at the Crescent Golf Club in Salisbury, N.C.

 

A pair of freshman led Queens at the event. Cateyln Eddy (Manchester, Conn.) fired 80-82 (162) to pace the Royals. She tied for no. 17 overall. Classmate Courtney Noble (St. Helena Island, S.C.) was not far behind as she shot 84-86 (170) for no. 34.

Senior Sara McCarthy (Richmond, Va.) shot 96-86 (182), sophomore Martha Morgan (Cunningham, Tenn.) shot 94-88 (182) and sophomore Christa Soderstrom (Worcester, Mass.) shot 100-99 (199).

Central Arkansas University took first place, followed by Catawba College, Anderson College, Lenoir-Rhyne College, Wingate University and Tusculum College.

The Royals host the Top-Flite/Rafferty’s Intercollegiate Tournament September 20-22 at the Regent Park Golf Club in Fort Mill, S.C.
