Queens Picked Third In Women’s Golf Poll

 

Anderson College leads the way

 

THOMASVILLE, N.C. (January 30, 2004) -- Anderson College is the target in 2004 as they are ranked first in this year’s women’s golf preseason coaches poll as voted on by CVAC coaches.  

 

Pfeiffer University grasps second place in this year’s coaches poll. This will be the first year of women's golf at Pfeiffer University.

 

Limestone College and Queens University of Charlotte both land third place in the preseason poll.  After finishing with a 19-48 record last season, the Saints return four starters.

 

Queens University of Charlotte is coming off its most productive season in the brief three-year history of the program. The Royals are poised to build on its success. Queens returns three strong performers in Sarah McCarthy (Sr., Richmond, Va.), Martha Morgan (So., Cunningham, Tenn.) and Christa Soderstrom (So., Worcester, Mass.). Queens also added two first-rate recruits who will vie for top spots on the Royals' roster. Courtney Noble (St. Helena Island, S.C.) and Catelyn Eddy (Manchester, Conn.) both impressed in the fall season. The Royals tee-off February 6-8 at the Tusculum College/Kiawah Island Intercollegiate in Kiawah Island, S.C.

 

Rounding out the women’s golf preseason poll were Mt. Olive College and St. Andrews Presbyterian College.
