Admissions Deadlines

The Office of Admissions reserves the right to extend the admissions deadline when warranted.

Spring 2010 - September 21
Fall 2010 - March 15

Admissions Information

The first step in the admission process is admittance to Queens University of Charlotte as a Pre-Nursing major. Pre-nursing students will work on completing the degree requirements and course prerequisites prior to applying to the major. Admission to Queens University of Charlotte does not guarantee admission to the nursing major.  Nursing courses span 4 semesters, with summers off.  Students are admitted twice a year – in January and August.

Applicants to the pre-nursing program at Queens may select 1 of 2 points of entry to Queens:  the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) or Hayworth College (HC).  Whichever college the student chooses, the student has to be admitted to that college before the student can apply to the nursing major.  While the general education requirements are different in CAS and HC, if the student is admitted to the nursing major, the course of study is identical for all students.

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS)

This point of entry into Queens is usually for student who want a traditional college program of study that includes Queens’ CORE Program in the Liberal Arts and travel abroad through the John Belk International Program.  The point of entry is usually chosen by students entering directly from high school and wanting to live on campus for at least some of their college experience.

To contact an admissions counselor in CAS (for the pre-nursing major), call 1-800-849-0202, ext 2212 or 704-337-2212.
You may also email the College of Arts and Sciences.

Hayworth College (HC)

If you have course prerequisites and degree requirements remaining, you can fulfill this requirement at Hayworth College. This point of entry into Queens is often selected by students who have graduated from high school some time ago.  The student may have had some college-level work or may have completed a degree in a field other than nursing. As a convenience for the adult learner, most of the general degree requirement and prerequisite courses can be taken during the day or evening.  Nursing courses are scheduled during the day only.

To contact an admissions counselor in HC (for the course prerequisites and/or degree requirements only), call (704) 337-2314.
You may also email Hayworth College.
