The Presbyterian School of Nursing at Queens University of Charlotte is proud to be the home of a nationally recognized Patient Simulation Lab (PSL) on the Fifth Street Nursing Campus of the Presbyterian School of Nursing, where both student nurses and hospital employees receive dynamic instruction using the latest technology in patient simulation.

Simulated patient scenarios have been incorporated into the curriculum for all levels of the both the ASN and BSN nursing programs.  The PSL is also being utilized by many departments of Presbyterian Hospital including Emergency, Critical Care and Critical Care Transport.  At the conclusion of 2008, over 400 scenarios have taken place, with more than 1300 student nurse and 800 experienced nurse encounters.

Interesting facts about the patient simulation lab at Queens:

• Opened August 29, 2007
• Created in collaboration with Presbyterian Hospital
• 4 bays plus observation room
• 3 high fidelity simulators by Medical Education Technology Inc.
• Birthing Simulator with newborn from Gaumard Scientific
