Guest borrowers may check out up to five books at a time for a maximum of four weeks.  These books may be renewed for an additional four weeks if there are no other requests for them.

Guest Borrowers may ask that books from the collection be reserved for them.  Borrowing privileges extended to Guest Borrowers are not transferrable to other family members.  The card holder must be present to check out materials.  There are no exceptions to this policy without prior approval of the Library Director.

Fines are charged on overdue materials at the rate of $.25 per day, up to a limit of $10 per book.  Fines are charged only when the library is open; no fines accrue on days when the library is closed.

Guest Borrowers are responsible for the cost of lost of damaged materials.  Materials not returned within one month of the due date are considered lost.  Guest Borrowers will be billed for the replacement cost of the book.  The minimum replacement cost for all books, including juvenile books, is $40.

Materials checked out from the Library are the responsibilty of the person in whose name they were checked out.  There are no exceptions to this policy.

Periodicals, reference books, and materials from the Rena Harrell Special Collections room may not be checked out by Guest Borrowers.  These items are for use in the Library only.

Guest Borrowers may not use the media collection without prior approval from the Library Director.  Guest Borrowers do not have access to interlibrary loans, online database searches, or other services for which the Library may be charged.  Access to other services, including the Internet, is provided, but Queens University of Charlotte students and faculty receive priority service.
