Providing leadership for Queens University of Charlotte is its Board of Trustees, which includes as many as 36 corporate, civic and community leaders from across the United States. Trustees serve four-year terms, and at least one third of them are alumni of the institution.
The President serves as an ex-officio member. The board meets three times each year, and provides guidance for the institution in administrative areas of master planning, finance, and investment, and strategic issues such as enrollment, advancement, academics, facilities, and technology.

As Queens continues the celebration of its Sesquicentennial throughout 2007, I am pleased to be chairing the University’s board of trustees as it prepares to achieve even greater growth and community impact. With our board’s support, I stand ready to help President Davies as she leads us on a journey to make dramatic improvements in three vital areas: our physical plant, our ability to provide scholarship support and our impact on this region.
As a board, we strive to advance the foundation that has driven Queens’ success since 1857 – a Presbyterian heritage, an award-winning faculty, an innovative curriculum, and an assortment of creative programs. We continually look ahead to see how we may continue the Queens tradition of excellence in education and the transformational impact we have on our students. Our committees focus on a broad array of areas including finance, fundraising, investment and marketing in support of President Davies and the outstanding faculty and staff she has assembled.
As momentum builds for our 2012 Strategic Plan, I thank you for your support of Queens, a higher education institution that prides itself on providing outstanding educational experiences for our students, and enhancing the intellectual and cultural fabric of the community.
