“Here at Queens, I’m a junior in the newly formed School of Communication. After trying my hand in other majors here at Queens, I realized my passion was not found in the corporate boardroom of the business world, but instead in the newsrooms of the communication field. As I begin digging deeper into my coursework and internships, I welcome you all to begin your journeys as Communication majors along with me here at Queens. The work won’t always be easy, but, as we say on the Queens University of Charlotte women’s basketball team, ‘The harder we work the better the results!’”
– Ashley McGuirt, Class of 2010
Ashley’s story is like many here at Queens. In the School of Communication, we invite you to explore with us. Undergraduates in our school have the opportunity to major in Communication Studies, Corporate Communication, and Journalism. Many of our classes involve exciting possibilities in media studies, and the new Knight-Crane Convergence Lab functions as a practical classroom for digital media technology.
The possibilities for Communication majors are endless in an “always-on” world, and we invite you to explore your options with us in the School of Communication.
