Explanation of SYE Events:
SEPTEMBER: Senior Recognition Day
In September every year SYE hosts Senior Recognition Day which includes a special continental breakfast prior to Fall Convocation recognizing seniors. Following convocation, Senior Reception is hosted at Dr. Davies’ home and all day rings are available to try on for juniors and seniors all day in the lobby of Trexler. Herff Jones is the Queens class ring provider.
JANUARY: Senior Countdown: 100 Days to Graduation
Seniors have many things to finish before they graduate - the Senior Countdown was designed to help seniors do their "one-stop shopping." Whether a senior needs to find a job or apply to graduate school, find a place to live, setup health, car and renter's insurance, order a class ring or make a pledge to the Alumni Fund - a representative will be able to help!
Seniors who visit each table are eligible for a drawing. Giveaways include: Graduation Announcement Package, (2) $100 Gift Certificate toward purchase of Queens Ring and other Queens items! All seniors will receive a special 100 Days to Graduation cup and pen when they complete a survey at the event.
Representatives from the following areas will be available to answer questions and give out information:
Balfour - Queens Ring
Capital Insurance Agency – Health Insurance
GRE & GMAT Prep Course
Hamptons at Quail Hollow - Apartment Complex
Alumni Programs
Queens Fund
Career Center
Senior Year Experience Committee
Student Financial Services
Commencement Committee

FEBRUARY: Senior Brunch
LaceyWilliams, '04 wanted a way for seniors to recognize faculty and staff at Queens who
had an impact on their college experience. In the Spring of 2004, she planned a special event
for seniors and one faculty or staff member who has positively impacted their experience
at Queens.
The Senior Class of 2008 is continuing the tradition and will hold the Senior Brunch on
Tuesday, February 12, 2008 during College Hour (10:45am to 1:00 pm) at the President's
Home. Seniors will receive a mailing in January that includes an invitation for a faculty
or staff member.
Not sure what to expect? Feel prepared by attending our two events prior to Career Expo!
Wednesday, February 20: Resume Critiques - Special Location! (no RSVP needed)
Located in Trexler Student Center from 10am-2pm
Bring a copy of your resume and a member of the career center staff will critique
it for you - no appointment necessary! Use this time to prepare your resume for the career fair!

MARCH: Senior Ring Day Ring Reception
This is an event for students who bought a Queens Ring and their families. Students are presented their ring by President Davies in a special ceremony. The Queens Ring represents the status of one's class rank and the dedication to the ideals of which Queens wishes to uphold.
Please call Beth Levanti, assistant director of Alumni Programs at levantib@queens.edu or ext. 2536 if you have any questions regarding this event.
MAY: Senior Week
Senior Weeks hosts a variety of activities for our seniors during their last week of college. In year's past, the week included seniors attending a Charlotte Knights baseball game, a Lake Norman yacht cruise and Senior Cookout hosted by Alumni Programs & Annual Giving. The week ends with Bacclaureate held at Myers Park Baptist and Graduation on the Burwell Lawn.
