on campus and be in the center of it all! Live in a Residence Hall that is convenient to classes and extracurricular activities... get involved in the campus community... participate in activities within the halls and around campus. You will find an instant support network, ready-made study groups and a chance to make life-long friendships.
College is a time when students learn to make their own decisions, exercise their independence, and begin determining their values and future plans. Resident students are generally more connected to the campus community than students who commute.
The Office of Residence Life promotes a safe, caring, and supportive living environment, where students are encouraged to learn and work together to form positive communities.
The Residence Hall Association (RHA), Resident Assistants and professional coordinators provide monthly social and educational programming, such as the annual Holiday Open House and CORE study sessions.
It is our goal to help you create productive, exciting, and comfortable experiences while living on campus at Queens University of Charlotte.
If you have any questions or need more information, please contact us at ResLife@queens.edu, or call 704 337-2293.
Dear Resident Students, Prospective Students and Parents,
On behalf of the Residence Life Staff at Queens University of Charlotte, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you as a member (or prospective member) of our residence community! Living on campus offers many unique opportunities, and we encourage you to take full advantage of this experience.
At Queens, we believe that a true collegiate experience involves more than attending classes and earning a diploma. On our campus, we call our buildings residence halls, not dorms, because "dorms" are places where students only sleep and study. Our residence halls are communities where learning and development occur through student-led hall government and event programming, with our staff ready to assist when needed.
Your on-campus experience will include interacting with fellow students from a variety of backgrounds, participating in shared programs and activities, and learning about yourself as an individual and as a community member. The Residence Life Staff understands the importance of assisting students' entire development, so we plan activities designed to meet your needs and interests.
We are dedicated to making your residential experience a positive one. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have and we welcome your suggestions.
Once again, WELCOME! We wish you a successful, happy, and productive year at Queens!
Thom Shepard Director of Residence Life
