From interpersonal relationships to public presentations to the media, we engage in communication processes throughout our lives. Communication is what makes us human.

The Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication provides students in the College of Arts and Sciences with a solid liberal arts education, enabling them to become better consumers, critics, and creators of communication in a variety of settings.
The study of Communication at Queens provides students with the ability to analyze and understand audiences, situations, and sources, and to develop appropriate messages in a variety of contexts. Critical thinking and situational analysis based on a foundation of strong speaking and writing enhance our students’ ability to communicate. Communication is one of the most popular majors in the College of Arts and Sciences; it is also a field of study that is rapidly expanding nationally. Majors in Communication elect one of three tracks:
- Journalism, for students interested in how news and features are developed for the media
- Corporate Communication, for students interested in how communication occurs both within organizations and between organizations and their publics
- Communication Studies, for students interested in the interrelationships of interpersonal, public, and mass communication
Many students also choose to double-major, with popular choices including Psychology, History, English, Art, Sociology, Political Science, Philosophy and Religion, and Business.
Concentrations in Communication Studies, Corporate Communication, and Journalism are also available.
