Daniel G. Lugo began his service as Queens' 21st president on July 1, 2019.
Daniel G. Lugo, J.D., a distinguished higher education professional and inspirational leader known for innovative resource development at some of the nation’s most prestigious liberal arts institutions, joined Queens University of Charlotte as 21st president on July 1, 2019. He was most recently vice president for College Advancement at Colby College in Waterville, Maine.

Biography
Lugo is an innovative higher education leader who has served in senior positions at three prestigious national liberal arts colleges, and has strategic experience in institutional advancement, alumni engagement, enrollment marketing, student recruitment and diversity and inclusion.
Dan Lugo is a hands-on leader who has both the highest ideals for educational excellence
and the practical ability to help institutions compete well and achieve their goals.
He works extremely well with students, faculty, staff, alums and board members, both
leading and listening. He is committed to working with all stakeholders of an academic

A search committee of trustees, faculty, staff and students, chaired by Foundation for the Carolinas President and former Queens Board Chairman Michael Marsicano, worked with executive search firm Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates to find the university’s 21st president.
