Search Process
To facilitate the search for Queens’ 21st president, the Board of Trustees appointed a Presidential Search Committee consisting of trustees, faculty, staff, students and alumni.
On July 1, 2019 Daniel G. Lugo became 21st president of Queens University of Charlotte.
On April 10, 2018, Dr. Pamela Davies announced her plan to conclude her service as the university’s 20th president effective June 30, 2019. After a sabbatical year, Davies will return to the faculty as professor of strategy in the McColl School of Business.
Then-Board of Trustees Chair Michael Tarwater appointed Trustee and Immediate Past Chair Michael Marsicano to chair the Presidential Search Committee. The search committee, composed of trustees, faculty, staff, students and alumni, conducted the national search.
Shelly W. Storbeck and Julie Tea of the executive search firm Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates, supported the search committee in its work.
During April and May 2018, a number of forums and meetings were held to allow students, faculty, staff, alumni and other stakeholders an opportunity to share suggestions and ideas about the search for our next president.
