You’ve written the first draft of your book. Maybe even the second or third. Here's how you can take it to the next step.

If you are a prose writer, agents show interest, but ultimately pass. If you are a poet, you can’t seem to get to first place and publication. The pros know: when you get to that point, it’s time to take your manuscript apart and put it back together.

That’s where we come in. We’ll pair you with a senior editor from a major publishing house to help take your manuscript to the next level.

Designed for writers with a draft of book-length manuscript already completed, this special program pairs a writer with an editor from a major publishing house. Past editors have come from Henry Holt, Farrar Straus & Giroux, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Red Hen, Viking, Penguin and Riverhead.

Apply to the Book Development Program through the MFA Application process.
