Certification Program IN Higher Education

The Certificate in Higher Education is a unique program designed to explore the curriculum and instructional practices found in colleges and universities. This program will support an in-depth understanding of many facets of college instruction including, governance, curriculum, learning theories, teaching, faculty responsibilities, and instructional design. Those looking for roles in higher education will gain both the theoretical and practical application of current research which supports successful learning outcomes. Focus will also be placed on an examination of current pedagogical changes such as curriculum design for post-traditional education and understanding of design of hybrid and online instruction. This program is developed to align with the North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards, and Standards for Graduate Teacher Candidates. Complete this certification in 10 months or take courses at your own pace.

Admission:

To be considered for admission into the program, an applicant must:

  • Submit a completed graduate application
  • Submit a copy of a valid, non- provisional, non- expired NC teaching license
