It is recommended not to bring child seats/carriers or strollers if possible.

Guests requiring ADA accommodations are welcome in the ADA-compliant Curry Area. However, for those with mobility concerns seeking a more accessible option, we recommend the Sandra Levine Theatre, our live-streaming location. This space offers a comfortable and convenient viewing experience, along with closer access to a designated drop-off area, restrooms, and the theatre. Additionally, an ASL interpreter will be present in the Curry Area and will be visible on the live stream in the Sandra Levine Theatre.

ADA Accommodations

The following are accommodations available to our guests at Commencement. If there are additional ways we can work to meet your accessibility needs, please contact Renee Wells (wellsr@queens.edu) at least one week in advance of the ceremony.

The drop-off point for guests with mobility impairments will be available on Wellesley Avenue by the Levine Center. There is a golf cart available at our drop-off point to take guests to their seats. This golf cart is only for guests with mobility impairments and one additional guest. Remaining friends and family will need to walk to their seats. Please note that we do not provide wheelchairs.

A sign language interpreter will be available at the ceremony. In addition to reserved seating near the interpreter for guests with hearing impairments, the interpreter will be visible on all screens during the commencement ceremony.

If watching via the YouTube Livestream, you may select to turn on closed captioning and select your preferred language. A sign language interpreter will also be visible on the livestream.

In accordance with federal and state laws, individually trained Service Dogs are permitted to accompany a partner with a disability in all university facilities where commencement activities are taking place.

Emotional Support Animals (ESA) or pets are not permitted in university facilities where commencement activities are taking place.

Commencement Security & Support

There will be uniformed officers providing support at various locations on campus during commencement. These officers (representing Queens University PD, Charlotte-Mecklenburg PD, Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, and private security officers) will be stationed at intersections (to route traffic and ensure the safety of pedestrians), in campus parking lots and decks (to direct guests to their assigned parking), and at both the Levine Center and Gambrell to help direct visitors and provide support to our community as needed. Since commencement is a ticketed event, it is not open to the public, so these officers will also help to ensure the security of our graduates and their guests. If you have any questions regarding event security, please contact Chief Finney (QUPD) (finneyl2@queens.edu, 704-337-2476).

Celebrate Your Graduate

You are invited to honor and celebrate your graduating student’s accomplishments with a gift to the Queens Fund.
