Her teaching and research focus on Victorian literature and culture, feminist and queer theory, disability studies, and food writing. Her research on the intersection of food, gender, and sexuality in Victorian and contemporary women\u2019s writing has appeared or is forthcoming in the edited collections <em>Elizabeth Robins Pennell: Critical Essays<\/em> (Edinburgh University Press) and <em>Teaching Food in Literature<\/em> (MLA Press), as well as <em>Studies in the Novel, Journal of Victorian Culture Online<\/em>, and <em>The Recipes Project<\/em>. Dr. Shishko is currently at work on a new project, titled \u201cCripping the Victorian Kitchen: Communities of Care in Nineteenth-Century Invalid Cookbooks,\u201d which explores constructions of (dis)ability in Victorian recipes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Shishko is co-founder and director of QLIT: Queens Literary Studies Undergraduate Research Program.
