To be admitted to either program, a successful audition must be completed and all audition requirements must be met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Auditions are good for one year. If a year has passed, you must audition again.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Audition Components<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Audition repertoire performance on primary instrument<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sight reading on primary instrument<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sight singing, pitch matching, and rhythmic assessment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Singing a familiar song with and without accompaniment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interview with faculty<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prepared Pieces on Primary Instrument<\/h3>\n\n\n  \n<div class=\"article-grid article-grid--default article-grid--default-column article-grid--bordered\">\n  <div class=\"article-grid__inner grid\">\n          <div class=\"article-grid__item\">\n                                  \n  \n<component\n  is=\"article\"\n  class=\"article article--break-default\"\n>\n        \n<component is=\"context\" class=\"context context--xsmall context--dark \">\n        <h2 class=\"context__heading\">\n            <div>Voice<\/div>\n                <\/h2>\n        <p>Three contrasting selections, all to be performed from memory, including one selection in Italian, Spanish, or Latin: one art-song or aria in English or the original language, and one song in musical theatre.<\/p>\n\n    <\/component><\/component>      <\/div>\n          <div class=\"article-grid__item\">\n                \n  \n<component\n  is=\"article\"\n  class=\"article article--break-default\"\n>\n        \n<component is=\"context\" class=\"context context--xsmall context--dark \">\n        <h2 class=\"context__heading\">\n            <div>Piano, Organ, Strings<\/div>\n                <\/h2>\n        <p>Two contrasting works (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionistic, or 20th Century). All selections are encouraged to be performed from memory, but not required.<\/p>\n\n    <\/component><\/component>      <\/div>\n          <div class=\"article-grid__item\">\n                \n  \n<component\n  is=\"article\"\n  class=\"article article--break-default\"\n>\n        \n<component is=\"context\" class=\"context context--xsmall context--dark \">\n        <h2 class=\"context__heading\">\n            <div>Guitar<\/div>\n                <\/h2>\n        <p>Two works in contrasting style to be chosen from solo literature and\/or etudes. All selections are encouraged to be performed from memory, but not required.<\/p>\n\n    <\/component><\/component>      <\/div>\n          <div class=\"article-grid__item\">\n                \n  \n<component\n  is=\"article\"\n  class=\"article article--break-default\"\n>\n        \n<component is=\"context\" class=\"context context--xsmall context--dark \">\n        <h2 class=\"context__heading\">\n            <div>Woodwinds &#038; Brass<\/div>\n                <\/h2>\n        <p>Two works (one lyrical and one technical) of contrasting style periods from the standard repertoire, including movements of sonatas and concerti, or other solo pieces and longer etudes.<\/p>\n\n    <\/component><\/component>      <\/div>\n          <div class=\"article-grid__item\">\n                \n  \n<component\n  is=\"article\"\n  class=\"article article--break-default\"\n>\n        \n<component is=\"context\" class=\"context context--xsmall context--dark \">\n        <h2 class=\"context__heading\">\n            <div>Percussion<\/div>\n                <\/h2>\n        <p>Performance on two of the following areas is required. Snare drum: rudiments and a prepared solo or etude; Timpani: two solos in contrasting styles; Marimba: major scales and arpeggios, two solos in contrasting styles.<\/p>\n\n    <\/component><\/component>      <\/div>\n          <div class=\"article-grid__item\">\n                \n  \n<component\n  is=\"article\"\n  class=\"article article--break-default\"\n>\n        \n<component is=\"context\" class=\"context context--xsmall context--dark \">\n        <h2 class=\"context__heading\">\n            <div>Harp<\/div>\n                <\/h2>\n        <p>Two works in contrasting styles from the standard repertoire.
