The History program at Queens University invites you to explore this vital question through innovative courses, an award-winning faculty, and a caring, close-knit community of scholars. Our hands-on history courses invite students to develop, refine, and master the skills required to succeed in an ever-changing world, whether your degree takes you to graduate school, corporate America, non-profit work, the government sector, or the classroom. More importantly, you will be equipped to navigate the world as an informed and intelligent global citizen. If your imagination is hearty and your sense of curiosity is strong, you can debate with the American founders, explore vast empires, occupy Alcatraz Island during the fight for Red Power, or march against Cort\u00e9s in 16th-century Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Meet Our Students<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Queens History majors have gone on to a variety of roles after graduation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Martha Biggins<\/strong> is an archival researcher for television and film with the BBC and other companies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Renee Brozowski<\/strong> became a business analyst for Duke Energy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Julie Lang<\/strong> is a high school history teacher at a private K-12 school.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Alisha Baumann<\/strong> is now a data analyst and public sector consultant at Ernst and Young.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ella Van Troba<\/strong> pursued a graduate degree in American studies at Columbia University.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Emily Iknayan<\/strong> enrolled in graduate school at Cornell University.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Lanie Walsh<\/strong> enrolled in the graduate program at Kings College, London.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Donald Haley<\/strong> serves as Director &amp; Legislative Counsel for the North Carolina General Assembly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sam Gibson<\/strong> is a sales manager for Milwaukee Tool Company.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Brianna Paglia<\/strong> works as a compliance associate with Adler &amp; Stachenfeld LLP .<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Laurynn Harkins<\/strong> is the Membership and Engagement Manager at the Sullenberger Aviation Museum.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Skyler McNeely<\/strong>, international transportation senior specialist for Lowes\u2019<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Emily Sears<\/strong>, non-profit advocate and graduate student at Queens University, Belfast<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Olivia Larson<\/strong> entered a Ph.D. program at the University of South Carolina.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Program Highlights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You\u2019ll learn from accomplished and award-winning faculty in classes with a low student-faculty ratio and a caring, close-knit community of scholars.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our hands-on history courses invite you to explore the past through books and articles, but also through role-playing simulations, archival research, field trips, game design, and a variety of digital tools.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Every history student at Queens who maintains at least a 3.0 GPA is eligible for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.queens.edu\/artsci\/preyer-history-fellows-program\/\" title=\"\">our Preyer History Fellowship<\/a>. This builds on our tradition of excellence by rewarding high-achieving undergraduate history majors with scholarships to pursue international study, internships, and more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Your Degree in Action<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Graduates of our history program have gone on to pursue graduate school in a related subject or join the workforce.
