Multicultural Suite & DICE Lounge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n \n\n

The suite is located on the lower level of Dana \/ Sykes Hall. It includes offices for Diversity, Inclusion & Community Engagement (DICE) staff, the DICE Lounge, multicultural club rooms, and more.<\/p>\n

The DICE Lounge is located in the Multicultural Suite and is a comfortable place for faculty, staff, and students to lounge, enjoy snacks, study, or host meetings.\u00a0This multipurpose lounge is very flexible and offers a safe space for everyone.<\/p>\n\n <\/component> <\/div>\n

Clubs & Organizations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

DICE provides guidance and support to our multicultural student clubs on campus. Those clubs include the Asian Student Association (ASA), Black Student Union (BSU), Indigenous Peoples of America (IPOA), Latina American Student Organization (LASO), and Queens University Queer Union (QUQU).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also offer additional support to our religious\/spiritual student organizations Hillel Jewish Student Group and Muslim Student Association (MSA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We really enjoy interacting and learning from our diverse campus. We create opportunities for our campus to celebrate cultures throughout the year with intentional focus and celebration during official observance days or months.\u00a0We observe cultural months with a major kickoff event, a service event, workshops, and more.<\/p>\n\n <\/component> <\/div>\n

    Support Programs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    DICE provides support to diverse individuals, clubs, and organizations including but not limited to those that represent human identities and qualities such as race, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, heritage, national origin, socioeconomic class, language, and ability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    L.E.A.D.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The Learn, Empower, Act, Diversify (L.E.A.D.) program is a peer mentoring program for first-generation, Pell-eligible, and students of color. First-year students apply to the program as mentees and graduate to be mentors by their second year. The program is designed for one-on-one mentoring and also incorporates group social, educational, and service activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    iBelong Male Mentoring Program<\/h3>\n\n\n\n \n\n

    This program will offer support strategies to improve outcomes for young men of color by increasing purpose, brotherhood, social capital, and community service.\u00a0 Our primary focus areas include academic success, career readiness, and increased social capital.<\/p>\n\n <\/component> <\/div>\n

    \n \n DEI Leadership Program\n \n \n \n <\/svg>\n \n <\/span>\n <\/button>\n <\/h3>\n \n \n
    \n

    The Royal Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DE&I) Leadership Program is a semester-long program that will assist participants in expanding and deepening their cultural competence to build awareness\/attitudes, knowledge, and skills to effectively interact with other cultures. The program also increases participants’ cultural humility which challenges individuals to interrogate their own biases and is a humble acknowledgment that one cannot know everything about other cultures and recognizes that learning about other cultures is a lifelong goal and process. The 15-hour program combines in-person workshops with asynchronous assignments and off-campus experiences. The focus areas for the program include identity, communication, allyship, and interfaith cooperation.<\/p>\n\n<\/div> <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/article>\n

    \n \n Safe Zone Training\n \n \n \n <\/svg>\n \n <\/span>\n <\/button>\n <\/h3>\n \n \n

    This training is designed to provide training and awareness to those who identify as a part of the LGBTQ+ community as well as those who are allies. Those who complete the two-hour training will become visible allies on campus. The training includes information about sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and allyship.<\/p>\n\n<\/div> <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/article>\n

    \n \n Green Zone Training\n \n \n \n <\/svg>\n \n <\/span>\n <\/button>\n <\/h3>\n \n \n
    \n

    This training is designed to provide training and awareness to those who identify as allies to the student veteran community. Those who complete the one-hour training will become visible allies on campus by displaying a green zone sticker on their door, laptop, or other item.
