Melissa Gamez, M.S.
Melissa Gamez is an assistant professor in the New Media Design and Interior Architecture and Design departments at Queens University. She is also the principal designer at Gamez Creative in Charlotte, North Carolina, a graphic and web design company that creates visual solutions for branding, layout, photography, illustration, packaging, social media and animation.
Gamez has worked both nationally and internationally in the fields of architecture, video games, television commercials, photography, graphic design, web design and academia. While working at Will Vinton Studios (now Laika), she contributed to national advertising campaigns for M&M Mars, Tropicana, Bayer, Hallmark and Clorox Bleach. She also created gaming environments for multiple platforms at Electronic Arts/Westwood Studios.
She is interested in all aspects of visual design and image making, but is focused on image manipulation, mixed media and digital collage. She has previously taught at the University of Las Vegas, Nevada, the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, and the Art Institute of Charlotte.
