Reed Roig, Ph.D.
Dr. Reed Roig is a CPA and worked for more than 20 years as an accounting professional
before shifting to teach full-time. His career experience includes roles as public
accountant (audit), internal auditor, division controller, corporate controller, division
general manager and business/financial consultant. In 2006, he began teaching at Western
Carolina University. After earning his Ph.D., he moved to the University of North
Carolina at Asheville in 2009. He began teaching at Queens in 2015
Dr. Roig has taught financial and managerial principles of accounting at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as undergraduate-level cost accounting, accounting information systems, intermediate accounting, governmental and non-profit accounting, advanced accounting and accounting theory. His current research focuses on improving both the education (teaching and learning) and the practice of accounting.
He has presented his research at annual meetings of the American Accounting Association and has published work in numerous peer-reviewed accounting, finance and business journals.
