Family & Friends Weekend is an exciting annual event at Queens University of Charlotte, offering students, families, and friends the opportunity to come together and experience the vibrant campus life. Throughout the weekend, you will enjoy a variety of activities, our Royals Rise: D1 Celebration, sporting events, social gatherings, and special programs designed to showcase the university community. It\u2019s a chance for families to reconnect, make lasting memories, and engage with the Queens experience in a fun, welcoming environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whistling Hens: Big Crass Monster<\/strong>
\n3:30 p.m. | Greenhoot Recital Hall<\/p>\n

Whistling Hens was founded by soprano Jennifer Piazza-Pick and clarinetist Natalie Groom to celebrate and advance the artistic accomplishments of women through an ensemble that performs and commissions music by women composers. Inspired by a quote from a male music critic who said of Lili Boulanger in 1918, \u201cwomen composers are at best whistling hens,\u201d the Whistling Hens duo was hatched. Since its founding in 2018, Whistling Hens has premiered 29 pieces and commissioned 14 compositions, 10 transcriptions, the Whistling Hens Women Composer Coloring Book, and inspired 17 dedicated works.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<\/div> <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/article>\n
