{"id":240,"date":"2023-09-17T13:25:27","date_gmt":"2023-09-17T17:25:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.queens.edu\/financialaid\/?page_id=240"},"modified":"2024-10-11T11:03:57","modified_gmt":"2024-10-11T15:03:57","slug":"checklist-undergraduate-students","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.queens.edu\/financialaid\/checklist-undergraduate-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Financial Aid Checklist &#8211; Undergraduate Students"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For Full-Time, Traditional Undergraduate Students<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Please complete the following steps to ensure you are financially on track to begin a successful academic year at Queens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you have not already done so, <strong>complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)<\/strong> at <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\">fafsa.gov<\/a>. Queens school code is <strong>002957<\/strong>.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you are not eligible to submit the FAFSA, you can submit the <strong>Household Resources Form<\/strong> to Queens. Please connect with your admissions counselor for details. <em>This doesn\u2019t apply to international students<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have been selected for Verification, submit your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.queens.edu\/financialaid\/verification-information-forms\/\">Verification Worksheet<\/a> and supporting documents as soon as possible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you are a resident of North Carolina, complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/ncresidency.cfnc.org\/residencyInfo\/\">North Carolina Residency Determination Service (RDS) process<\/a> in order to establish your resident-status eligibility for North Carolina aid.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Financial Aid notices<\/strong> will be emailed to you. After you receive your financial aid notice and login credentials, students can log into the <a href=\"https:\/\/myfinancialaid.queens.edu\/\">myFinancialAid portal<\/a> to accept or decline your eligible loan funds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In order to take advantage of Federal Direct Loans, first-time borrowers must complete <strong>Entrance Counseling<\/strong> and a <strong>Master Promissory Note (MPN)<\/strong> on the <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/\">Federal Student Aid website<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Notify the Office of Financial Aid of any <strong>outside scholarships<\/strong> you are receiving from institutions other than Queens.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Parents of dependent students can also complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/plus-app\/parent\/landing\">Direct Parent PLUS Loan process<\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.queens.edu\/financialaid\/financial-aid-forms\/\">Cash Management form<\/a>. All students wishing to use financial aid to cover discretionary charges such as student health insurance, bookstore charges or fines must complete this form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.queens.edu\/financialaid\/financial-aid-forms\/\">Financial Services Access Code form<\/a>. All students must complete this form if they wish to discuss financial aid or account information via telephone or email. Parents or other third parties of dependent students who inquire about financial aid or student account information will be asked to provide this code.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Take care of your net balance after financial aid<\/strong>. Due dates are:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Fall &#8211; August 1<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Spring &#8211; January 6<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Summer &#8211; May 1<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Pay in Full<\/strong>: Payments can be made through <a href=\"https:\/\/myaccount.queens.edu\/ics\">MyAccount<\/a>. Queens University of Charlotte accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and E-check. Students can set up a \u201cParent Pin\u201d on <a href=\"https:\/\/myaccount.queens.edu\/ics\">MyAccount<\/a> for parents or other third-party payers via the \u201cStudent Account\u201d link.
