Students intern on a semesterly schedule, <strong>fall<\/strong> (August \u2013 December), <strong>spring<\/strong> (January \u2013 May), and <strong>summer<\/strong> (May \u2013 August).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By providing internship experiences, organizations help students apply classroom lessons to the workplace. In addition, it allows organizations an opportunity to create pipelines of student talent for successful post-graduate hires. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For an organization to be eligible to host an intern the organization must have two of the three qualifications:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>a business mailing address (P.O. Boxes allowed),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a business email address (i.e. @queens.edu, @belk.com), and\/or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a company website.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>While unpaid internships are legal, Queens supports <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naceweb.org\/about-us\/advocacy\/position-statements\/position-statement-us-internships\/\">NACE\u2019s statement on unpaid internships<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Contact Us<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Contact the Vandiver Center for Career Development (<a href=\"mailto:careerdevelopment@queens.edu\">careerdevelopment@queens.edu<\/a>) for more information.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As part of an innovative professional development curriculum, Queens students participate in for-credit internships prior to graduation.
