Hayes Hall
Hayes Gallery
Hayes Hall offers a one-of-a-kind experience in a suite-style hall on campus. Hayes is home to the Preyers Honor Program Living Learning Community. Find out more about Living Learning Communities.
As one of the oldest running residence halls in the state of North Carolina, Hayes has all the charm you would expect with original doors, floors, and lobby fireplace. Hayes Residence Hall first opened in 1914 and honors Queens Alumna and trustee Mariam Cannon Hayes (Class of 1937). The Lily Long Lobby, located in Hayes Hall, honors Lily W. Long who served the University for a half century and was President from 1891-1899.
This hall offers suite-style doubles with movable furniture and a closet in each room that is shared by residents. Every room connects to another room through a shared, recently updated bathroom. The 70 residents of Hayes are assisted by two Resident Assistants (RAs) who also live in the building.
