Our <strong>four-year residency requirement<\/strong> ensures that you will fully immerse yourself in campus life, build strong connections, and access resources that support your academic and personal success. Living on campus makes it easy for you to be more engaged in the community and more connected to the classroom, which will allow you to feel a stronger sense of what it means to be a Royal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who is Required to Live On Campus?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Full-time, enrolled undergraduate students are required to live in campus housing for <strong>four years<\/strong> unless you meet one of the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You will live with a parent or legal guardian in Mecklenburg County or a neighboring city\/zip code that is less than 30 miles from campus (see approved locations below)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will be over the age of 24<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are married<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You have children living with you<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Benefits of Living On Campus<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Living on campus means being at the heart of student life, with easy access to academic support services, leadership opportunities, and social activities. If you are interested in applying for commuter status, you can access the Commuter Status Application in your <a href=\"https:\/\/queens.datacenter.adirondacksolutions.com\/queens_thdss_prod\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Self-Service Portal<\/a>. Please make sure you submit the additional documents listed in the application instructions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transfer &amp; Graduate Students<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Transfer and graduate students are not required to live on campus but are welcome to apply for housing if interested.
