Feel free to make an appointment with Chaplain Adrian Bird via email (<a href=\"mailto:birda@queens.edu\">birda@queens.edu<\/a>), phone (704-337-2491), text (803-319-1439), or simply drop in to say hello.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why Contact a Chaplain?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chaplain is a <strong>confidential resource<\/strong>, providing a nonjudgmental listening ear to anyone in need of support. Here are some reasons you may wish to contact the Chaplain:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Struggling with grief or other life-changing events;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Curious about other faiths or cultures;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Seeking mind, body, and spirit balance;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Questioning who you are and aspects of your identity;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Family or interpersonal challenges;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wanting to create an event or conversation with others on campus;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Requesting a chaplain\u2019s visit while in hospital.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These are just a few examples of what you could discuss with a Chaplain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Five Pillars Grounding the Office of the Chaplain<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Office of the Chaplain is anchored on five pillars:<\/p>\n\n\n  \n<div class=\"article-grid article-grid--default article-grid--default-column \">\n  <div class=\"article-grid__inner grid\">\n          <div class=\"article-grid__item\">\n                                  \n  \n<component\n  is=\"article\"\n  class=\"article article--break-default\"\n>\n        \n<component is=\"context\" class=\"context context--xsmall context--dark \">\n        <h2 class=\"context__heading\">\n            <div>Civic Good<\/div>\n                <\/h2>\n        <p>The Queens education equips students\u2014in the classroom, on campus, and beyond\u2014to care for the world to which we belong. Many find life&#8217;s meaning through religious world views, while others do not.
