Join Amy Lorenz (Director of Residence Life, University of North Florida) to discuss Living-learning communities (LLCs). LLC’s represent a high-impact practice that integrates students’ academic and residential experiences, fostering deeper engagement, belonging, and learning. This workshop is designed for professionals who are interested in exploring how LLCs function in practice. The presentation will provide an overview of LLC models, highlight key design principles, and discuss the operational structures necessary for implementation, with time and guidance to help you build your own action plans.

Are you new to learning communities or to the National Learning Communities Conference? Then this session might be for you! Join consultant Amy Cooper, George Hill (Hudson County Community College), and Aurora Bautista (Bunker Hill Community College) for an interactive workshop designed to help individuals and teams who are just getting started in learning communities. Come learn the fundamentals of what makes learning communities a high-impact practice, how they might be implemented on your campus, and develop a plan for who to work with to make them a reality.
Already running LC’s on your campus but want to work through questions or challenges with a thought partner? We invite you to come by yourself or with your team to work with current members of the National Learning Communities Association for some step-back consulting. Whether you’re looking for insights about your own program assessment, expanding LC offerings, or embedding service-learning, we have some people to help you revise, plan, or troubleshoot the work you want to do.

Join Annetta Watkins-Foard from Community Collaborative Consulting on a bus tour that explores the history, demography, and cultural shifts in the 14th largest city in the U.S. Seats on this tour are limited. The tour will last approximately 2.5 hours.

Cancellations on or before September 30 will be provided a full refund minus a $25 processing fee. Cancellations received on or after October 1 may receive a partial refund that will be issued after the conference.
