Sep 14, 2023 By Queens University Communications

Renée Fleming, VOCES8, and Rosanne Cash Get a Royal Welcome

Celebrating arts and culture from around the world, the 2023-24 Spotlight Series will bring fleet-footed Cape Briton dancing, the magic of Mardi Gras, stellar vocalists from England, and Nashville song-writing royalty to the Sarah Belk Gambrell Center for the Arts and Civic Engagement on the campus of Queens University.

“At Queens, we believe that a well-rounded education embraces creative scholarship, cultural discovery, and community collaboration. This season has all of that and so much more,” says Gambrell Center Executive Director, Laura Kratt. The season kicks off with a two-day residency with VOCES8.  Based in England, VOCES8 will perform only once in North Carolina. “This concert will sound simply magical in the amazing acoustics of the Sandra Levine Theatre,” says Kratt. “This is a rare opportunity for young vocalists in our community to work with artists of this caliber and we’re grateful to the Charlotte Concerts Legacy Fund for helping make this possible.”
